A number of Russian medical schools are listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. Students who have completed their MBBS in Russia from any of these listed schools are eligible to apply for any licensure exam in a country including the Medical Council of India screening exam to register the degree.
Especially for Indian students, almost all the universities of Russia are listed by MCI and DCI means that after completing the studies the students will be allowed to appear in the screening exam conducted by both the councils and after securing the passing score the student can practice in India. This is compulsory for every other country as a well.
The IMED is an international directory which contains accurate information on all medical universities after they have been accredited by the concerned government authorities of the country in which they are located. Russian medical universities which are approved by the Russian Ministry of Health are listed in the IMED.
Any students graduating from a WHO listed medical academy in Russia is entitled to appear for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Exam) in order to practice in USA. So accordingly any student who have completed his or her studies from Russian University can appear in the examination.
The Russian medical degree ‘MD awarded by WHO listed Russian medical schools is recognized as equivalent to the preparatory medical studies by the General Medical Council (UK).Students who have completed their MBBS in Russia from listed medical universities can register with the GMC and appear for the licensing exam for overseas doctor(PLAB) in order to practice in UK.
All Russian medical degrees awarded by Russian medical Universities are recognized all over European Union (EU).
